If new business development is on your radar for 2013, listen up!
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) recently started a broad new program to help Michigan small businesses. One component is specifically designed to keep more business in state by encouraging large corporations to commit to procuring significant products and services within Michigan, via the new Pure Michigan Business Connect database. As part of the program, companies such as Consumers Energy and DTE are committed to spend an additional 500 and 250 million respectively on new in-state contracts over the course of five years.
In addition to new procurement commitments being sought by the MEDC from both in state and out of state corporations, companies listed within the database may also connect with fellow small businesses. This includes the ability to post offers/specials for other members, as well as to post RFPs for your own business.
